Sound & Surface · Flooring

Impact-resistant rubber flooring.

Bonded recycled-rubber floor systems for spaces where the floor takes a beating — equipment rooms, workshops, training floors, plant and circulation areas. Six surfaces on one core, 4 to 50 mm.

01

Starry Floor Mat

The workhorse.

A single bonded layer of recycled SBR crumb through the full thickness, flecked with EPDM granules. Nothing laminated, nothing to delaminate — the surface you walk on is the same material all the way down, so it wears evenly and can be cut on site without exposing a different core. The default choice where the floor has to take punishment and look unfussed about it.

Industrial Plain Mat

The plain one. Usually the right one.

The same bonded SBR core as the Starry mat with the EPDM speckle left out — a uniform matte black through the full thickness. In a factory, plant room or back-of-house area the speckle is decoration nobody asked for, and a plain black floor hides oil, swarf and tyre marks in a way a flecked one does not. It is also the simplest version of the product, so it is the one to ask about first unless the room needs the floor to look designed.

Laminated Surface Composite Mat

A harder face on the same core.

A denser wear layer is laminated onto the standard crumb base. The core still does the impact absorption; the face resists scuffing, dragged equipment and point loads better than an open crumb surface. Worth the step up in circulation routes and anywhere trolleys or plant move across the floor daily.

04

Multi-colour Composite Mat

Colour that goes through the wear layer.

EPDM colour granules form the top layer, bonded to the same recycled core. Because the colour is granular rather than printed, scuffing exposes more of the same colour instead of a black substrate — and EPDM holds that colour under UV, which is why the same material surfaces running tracks, playgrounds and exterior walkways. Indoors it handles zoning and branded areas; outdoors it takes weather and sunlight without weathering to grey. The option for where the floor is part of the design rather than something to hide, inside or out.

Wood Grain Surface Composite Mat

Looks like timber. Behaves like rubber.

A PVC wear layer hot-pressed onto the standard bonded-rubber core. It gives a space the warmth of a timber floor while keeping the impact behaviour of bonded rubber underneath — useful in studios, showrooms and front-of-house areas where an industrial rubber floor would read as too utilitarian. Sealed surface, so it cleans more like a hard floor. Two of the five finishes are stone rather than timber.

Rubber Roll

Seamless, thin, and a different animal.

The same bonded rubber, supplied in long rolls rather than tiles — thinner, and laid with far fewer joints than a mat floor. Its job is to sit under another floor finish as a resilient layer, or to cover large areas with minimal jointing. EPDM content is specified from 15% up to 100%, which is what sets the colour density and the cost. It is not a cheaper route to thickness: per millimetre it costs considerably more than a mat, and below about 10 mm it should not take direct impact at all.

Tell us what the floor has to survive.

Thickness is chosen from the load, not the room. Send us what gets dropped, how often, and what is underneath — we will tell you which of these six is right, and when none of them is.

Weights are nominal and vary with production tolerance. Third-party testing to Chinese national standard records Class I flame retardancy, TVOC of 1.2 mg/(m²·h) and formaldehyde of 0.05 mg/(m²·h), with heavy metals, benzene and short-chain chlorinated paraffins not detected. That is not a European reaction-to-fire class — no EN 13501 classification is held. Laboratory acoustic data is not certified for this range. Ask us for the test report before specifying where a project requires it.
